RV Power Solutions: From Battery to Appliances
SYSTEM LOGIC
How an RV Power System Actually Connects
Battery Bank
DC-DC Charger
Inverter
Starlink
Appliances
STAGE 1 — CHARGING
The Battery Bank Sets the Rules
- House bank charging from the alternator while driving
- Battery-to-battery charging between separate banks
- Voltage set-points matched to the bank chemistry
- Charging behavior confirmed before production
STAGE 2 — DC-DC CHARGING
DC-DC Is Where Most RV Systems Are Won or Lost
- Input and output voltage matched to the vehicle’s system
- Current rating set by alternator output and bank size
- Protection against over-current and reverse connection
- Converter and charger specified as one system
STAGE 3 — INVERTER
Clean AC Without Running the Generator
- Pure sine wave output for motors and sensitive electronics
- Continuous and peak ratings matched to the load list
- Remote control and monitoring options for installation
- Sized together with the battery bank, not separately
STAGE 4 — STARLINK POWER
Connectivity That Works Off Shore Power
- 12V DC conversion for mobile satellite terminals
- Protection suited to a vehicle installation
- Continuous load accounted for in the energy budget
- Compatible with the rest of the DC system
SIZING & SELECTION
What Decides the Size of Each Stage
RV power system sizing
| Stage | What decides the size | What we configure |
|---|---|---|
| Battery bank | Usable capacity, chemistry and how long the vehicle runs off-grid | Charging voltage set-points and current matched to the bank |
| DC-DC charging | Alternator output, cable run length and house bank size | Input and output voltage, protection and current rating |
| Inverter | Largest continuous AC load and the surge at motor start | Continuous and peak rating, waveform, control and monitoring |
| Starlink power | Terminal model, duty cycle and the energy budget | 12V conversion stage and protection for a mobile installation |
| Appliances | Continuous draw and daily energy use of each load | Which loads run from the bank and which sit behind the inverter |
RELIABILITY
A Mobile System Has to Survive a Moving Vehicle
Load Protection
Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-temperature and reverse-polarity protection on the charging and conversion stages.
Voltage Drop
DC runs sized so that a 12V rail does not become a 10V problem at the far end of the vehicle.
Thermal Headroom
Mounting and airflow planned for compartments that are already warm before the inverter starts working.
One Supply Chain
Charger, converter, inverter and Starlink power sourced against the same system voltage and documentation.
RV & MARINE
The Same System Logic, in a Wet Environment
- Waterproof and sealed charger options
- Shared converter and inverter platform across RV and marine
- Documentation prepared for the destination market
- Support for builders, upfitters and dealers
FAQ
Questions RV Builders Ask Us
Can you supply the whole RV power chain, or only individual products?
Both. Most customers start with one stage, usually charging or the inverter, and expand from there. Because the stages are specified together, we can quote a complete chain or a single replacement unit.
What is the difference between a DC-DC charger and a DC-DC converter?
A DC-DC charger manages charging current into a battery bank, including the charging stages that the battery chemistry requires. A converter changes one DC voltage into another for a load. RV systems usually need both, and they are specified together.
How do I size an inverter for a vehicle?
Start from the largest continuous AC load and the surge it pulls at motor start, then confirm the battery bank can supply that current. Share your appliance list and we will work through the sizing with you.
Can Starlink run from the RV battery system?
Yes. Satellite terminals can be powered from a 12V DC system through a dedicated conversion stage, which is how off-grid and mobile installations keep connectivity without shore power.
Do you work with RV builders, upfitters and marine applications?
Yes. OEM and ODM programs cover charging and power conversion products for RV builders, conversion companies and marine applications, with branding and product documentation to match.
What is the minimum order quantity for an OEM program?
MOQ and sample lead time depend on the product and customization level. Trial orders are supported so you can validate the configuration before scaling.
